Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up alongside 12 other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. Before she learned to write or read, she was making up her own music. The first time she picked up a guitar was when she was just 8 years old and started singing at an Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of eleven. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small independent label. While she was a local star while in the high school years, her ambitions were greater. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner required the services of a new singer by this point. Parton began her career in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. In 1974, she quit The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her solo songs like Joshua Coats of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached No. #1 for the first time since 1974.
