Sheryl Underwood, an American comedy and television star best known as the presenter of The Talk, a popular talk show that airs on daytime TV. Born in Arkansas she grew up in Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl comes from a family who has suffered from a range of problems. She spent most her childhood watching over her sick sister Frankie. While growing up, she suffered a difficult relationship to her maternal grandmother. Sheryl states that her mother one time slapped her father over getting too close. Sheryl was drafted into the military upon her graduation from college. She was however interested in comedy. She was the first female winner of the contest Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. Her TV career started in 1992 when she appeared on the HBO comedy program Def Comedy Jam. The show was hosted by her Oh Drama! in 2000. Since 2011, she's been being a co-host for The Talk, a talk show. The Talk. The actress has appeared on fictional programs such as Bulworth Nikki, Beauty Shop and others.
